Our Story
Our Founding Story: How the Passion for Smoked BBQ Began
“My wife bought me a barrel smoker that sat in the basement for many years. One day, she asked if I was ever going to use it. So, I pulled it out and tried smoking a turkey low and slow. It was the worst piece of smoked meat I ever had! I swore I would not let some fire, metal, and meat get the best of me.”
From that moment, Pitmaster Big Enzo dedicated himself to mastering the art of smoked BBQ. He practiced relentlessly — testing seven backyard smokers.
Two competition smokers later, he became one of the proud owners of House of BBQ and Bacon. What started as a disastrous turkey has turned into a craft honed by fire, patience, and passion! Now we are serving up some of the most mouthwatering, award-winning smoked BBQ that keeps people coming back for more.
Growth Over The Years
House of BBQ & Bacon, LLC opened in June of 2017 as Big Enzo’s BBQ, LLC and started with just our Smoked bacon Candy. After our first event and thousands of pieces sold, we knew we were going to be a major success.
We started to do 10 events a year for weddings, festivals, birthday parties, grad parties, and retirement celebrations. We also started to compete at BBQ competitions. People kept asking when they could get more!
We began partnering with large venues and grew to 40–50 events per year. Our team cooks on-site overnight to serve every meal fresh. We also cater corporate gatherings and annual galas.
We now partner with Mohegan Sun, the Hartford Yard Goats, Cave Hill Resort, and The Big E. Our community support includes sponsoring the Bristol Duck Race and the Central CT Chambers Brewfest.

Community-Focused: Proudly Serving Connecticut
“It all started with our Smoked Bacon Candy but it’s the community that’s kept us going.”
Since opening in 2017 as Big Enzo’s BBQ and growing into House of BBQ & Bacon, our family has been fueled by more than what’s on the grill. We’re all about the folks who track us down for that smoky goodness. From serving up crowd-pleasers at local fairs like the Big E and Mohegan Sun to dishing out plates for neighbors who’ve become family, every bite is loaded with love, laughter, and just the right amount of sizzle.
We’re honored to be members of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce, joining a network that champions local business, collaboration, and a thriving community.
